The purpose of orientation is to help new students transition from high school to life as a Rensselaer student.
Rensselaer offers a comprehensive, two-part orientation experience for all incoming undergraduates consisting of Student Orientation (SO) and Navigating Rensselaer & Beyond (NRB) in addition to Undergraduate Transfer Student Orientation for transfer students.
Student Orientation (SO)
SO is offered in 5 sessions:

Navigating Rensselaer & Beyond (NRB)
RPI’s fall orientation week: Tuesday-Sunday, August 24 - 29.
NRB includes adventure/team building activities, historical/cultural programs, and community service opportunities designed to assist incoming students in connecting with classmates while participating in interest-based activities. The program also serves to familiarize new members of the Rensselaer community not only with the campus but also with the city of Troy and surrounding areas.
